Job summary

KNAPP AG is seeking a Systems Software Engineer to design software solutions across KNAPP platforms and lead client and internal workshops. The role involves creating BPMN-based process specs, interface definitions, test cases, and internal documentation, while coordinating with KNAPP partners and MHE teams, in a home-based role with UK/Europe offices and sites.

Reporting to the Head of IT, you will contribute to project engineering, manage alignments, and ensure solutions meet KNAPP standards

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• Excellent understanding of logistic workflows based on design.
• Strong system integration knowledge.
• Ability to manage and realise meetings (internal, external).
• Proficiency with information technology and logistics.
• English language required; additional languages beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Design software solutions across KNAPP platforms.
• Lead workshops with customers and internal teams.
• Create process specifications using BPMN and KNAPP methods.
• Develop interface specifications and test cases (FAT, KNAPP Integration Testing).
• Coordinate alignment meetings and update specs during projects.
• Advise on deviations to sold scope and coordinate software partners.
• Produce internal project documents.

Job description

The Systems Software Engineer will be involved in designing software solutions across all our platforms.

Reporting to our Head of IT, the Engineer will contribute to all aspects of project engineering within the team and twill take the lead in creating designer documentation for systems.

While the role is home based, you will be expected to work at KNAPP offices and customer sites within the UK and Europe.

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Manage drafted system solutions from the KNAPP Software consulting department
• Discuss each drafted logistical / customer requirement at external and internal workshops
• Communicate and share information with multiple stakeholders (customer, MHE departments, software development, software Start-up)
• Creation of Process specification based on Business Process Modelling Notation (BPMN), KNAPP's Software engineering process
• Focus on workflows from KNAPP products
• Focus on logistical requirements (BPMN model from software Consulting)
• Business processes based on logistical requirements and aligned with system design and control concepts
• Realisation of processes based on KiSoft standard capabilities
• Control concepts based on standard capabilities KNAPP software and technology
• Creation of Interface specification
• Creation of internal documents for departments engaged in project realisation
• Creation of test cases (Factory Acceptance Testing, KNAPP Integration Testing)
• Creation of ZDRs (development requests)
• Management of alignment meetings (MHE) Update of specification documents during project realisation phase
• Alignment of system design and software processes
• Responsibility to advise a case of deviation to sold scope
• Coordination of software partners in relation to KNAPP's software scope

Skills, qualifications and experience

• Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, related field, or equivalent experience
• Excellent understanding of workflows of the logistic solution based on given design
• Excellent understanding of system integration (KNAPP into customer environment)
• Ability to manage and realise meetings (internal, external)
• Technical base knowledge (Information technology, logistics)
• Computer knowledge (MS Office, KNAPP internal tools)
• Language - English. Additional languages would be beneficial
