Job summary

Selby Jennings is seeking a Senior Linux Infrastructure Engineer for a trading environment in London. You will design, build, and support Linux-based infrastructure spanning global datacentres, cloud environments, and on-prem offices.

Ideal candidates bring 8+ years of experience, strong Python automation, and deep Linux expertise. You will improve reliability, security and scalability while collaborating with security and development teams across distributed offices.

Qualifications

• 8+ years' experience supporting and engineering large-scale Linux infrastructure environments.
• Strong Python development and automation expertise.
• Deep understanding of Linux operating systems, system internals, and configuration management tools.
• Exceptional troubleshooting and diagnostic capabilities across both host and network layers.
• Experience with automated build systems, software deployment frameworks, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong knowledge of infrastructure security principles and operational best practices.
• Solid understanding of network protocols and enterprise infrastructure services.
• Experience supporting DNS, DHCP, Kerberos, or similar core infrastructure technologies.
• Exposure to cloud platforms, large-scale storage environments, databases, and Windows/Linux integration.
• Knowledge of Rust, Go, Java, C, or C# would be advantageous.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills within globally distributed teams.
• Degree in Computer Science or another technical discipline preferred.
