Wolviston Management Services is seeking a Senior Linux Engineer to join the Infrastructure Engineering team in Glasgow, with a hybrid working pattern and occasional client-site attendance.
You will administer large-scale Linux environments, drive automation using Python and Ansible, and collaborate with VMware, F5, Infoblox, and monitoring tools to improve reliability and security. Initial onboarding includes travel to London; Glasgow is preferred, with Newcastle as a possible base.

We are seeking an experienced Senior Linux Engineer to join a highly skilled Infrastructure Engineering team responsible for supporting and evolving critical enterprise platforms within a large-scale, complex technology environment.
The team is responsible for a substantial Linux server estate alongside supporting technologies including VMware, F5 Load Balancing, Infoblox DNS and a suite of internally developed automation tools used to manage and maintain the wider infrastructure platform.
This role has been created to support a major programme of infrastructure modernisation, with a particular focus on improving the organisation's ability to perform operating system upgrades, vulnerability remediation and platform lifecycle management through automation at scale.
This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with strong Linux expertise who enjoys combining infrastructure operations, automation and platform engineering.
Glasgow is the preferred office location due to the existing engineering team presence.
Candidates based within commuting distance of Newcastle will also be considered.
During the initial onboarding period, successful applicants will be expected to travel regularly to London to collaborate with the wider engineering teams.
Travel requirements will reduce significantly following this period.
The Role As a Senior Linux Engineer, you will be responsible for the ongoing support, maintenance and enhancement of enterprise Linux infrastructure.
A key focus of the position will be helping the organisation improve the way infrastructure is managed through automation, reducing operational overhead and enabling faster response to security vulnerabilities and platform risks.
