Job summary

MBDA is seeking a proactive Systems Proving Engineer to join the Integration and Systems Validation team within the Naval Based Air Defence domain (Sea Viper) in the UK. The role involves planning, generating and executing trials, liaising with design and systems teams, and delivering trial readiness reviews.

Key responsibilities include data analysis, post-trial reporting, and support for a variety of trials (lab, ground, harbour, sea, and firing trials).

• Experience in systems engineering and integration projects.
• Experience with trials planning and execution.
• Knowledge of naval or missile test environments beneficial.

• Liaise with systems engineering and design teams to secure data and resolve issues.
• Prepare, deliver and follow up Trials Readiness Reviews.
• Conduct post-trials data analysis and reporting.
• Support a range of trials including laboratory, ground-based, harbour and sea trials.

Job description

We are looking for a proactive and committed Systems Proving Engineer to join the Integration and Systems Validation team in the Naval Based Air Defence domain (Sea Viper). Due to contracts won and expected, this is an exciting time to join an expanding team.

Salary

Up to £46,000 depending on experience

Dynamic (hybrid) working

Up to 4 days per week on-site due to workload classification

Security Clearance

British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship

The opportunity

• Work with the systems engineering team and design teams to plan, generate and execute trials;
• Liaise with the systems engineering team and design teams to ensure adequate trials data is acquired and to investigate and resolve design issues;
• Generate trials documentation;
• Prepare, deliver and follow up internal and external Trials Readiness Reviews;
• Conduct post trials data analysis and reporting;
• Conduct and/or support trials including: Laboratory based functional integration trials / system trials; Ground based trials; Harbour trials and sea trials; Firing Trials.
• Assist with: Lab Management responsibilities (e.g. maintain risk assessments, asset management, host audits, maintain lab safety etc.); Maintaining hardware and software configuration control.
• The job will involve opportunities to travel within the UK and possibly abroad.

• Be able to communicate with a wide range of internal customers, sub-contractors / partners/ suppliers at both engineering and management levels;
• Beneficial to have experience of MBSE tools, e.g. DOORS, Rhapsody, RTC;
• Beneficial but not essential, to have experience of coding, especially Python
