Job summary

MBDA is seeking a proactive Systems Proving Engineer to join the Naval Based Air Defence integration team. You will plan, execute trials and analyse results to support complex naval systems.

The role requires collaboration with engineering and design teams across trials, data collection, issue resolution and documentation, with travel within the UK and abroad possible. Hybrid onsite pattern applies.

Qualifications

• Experience in System Integration, Design Proving & Trials or Naval Integration.
• Ability to communicate with internal customers, subcontractors and management.
• Beneficial to have MBSE tools (DOORS, Rhapsody, RTC) and Python coding experience.

Responsibilities

• Plan, generate and execute trials with Systems Engineering and Design teams.
• Liaise to ensure adequate trials data and resolve design issues.
• Generate trials documentation and deliver Trials Readiness Reviews.
• Conduct post-trials data analysis and reporting.
• Support diverse trials: lab, ground, harbour/sea, firing, foreign trials.

Job description

MBDA are looking to secure the services of a number of Naval Based Air Defence Systems Proving Engineers.

Salary: Up to £45,000 Depending on experience.

Hybrid working pattern: 4-5 days a week onsite

Security Clearance: British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship.

Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply. As a minimum and after offer stage, all successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS), which are managed by the MBDA Personnel Security Team.

The opportunity:

We are looking for a proactive and committed Systems Proving Engineer to join the Integration and Systems Validation team in the Naval Based Air Defence domain. Due to contracts won and expected, this is an exciting time to join an expanding team.

• Work with the systems engineering team and design teams to plan, generate and execute trials.
• Liaise with the systems engineering team and design teams to ensure adequate trials data is acquired and to investigate and resolve design issues.
• Generate trials documentation
• Prepare, deliver and follow up internal and external Trials Readiness Reviews
• Conduct post trials data analysis and reporting
• Conduct and/or support trials including
  • Laboratory based functional integration trials / system trials
  • Ground based trials
  • Harbour trials and sea trials
  • Firing Trials
  • Trials in foreign countries

In addition, the candidate will assist with:

• Lab Management responsibilities (e.g. maintain risk assessments, asset management, host audits, maintain lab safety etc.)
• Maintaining hardware and software configuration control

The job will involve opportunities to travel within the UK and abroad.
