Job summary

Cirrus Selection is seeking a Systems Design Engineer to join a growing team working across the full systems engineering lifecycle, from requirements and architecture through to verification, certification and customer acceptance.

You will lead system design activities, develop architectures, manage requirements and interfaces, and coordinate stakeholders across multiple programmes, contributing to bid strategies and contract delivery.

Qualifications

• Experience in Systems Engineering across lifecycle stages.
• Strong requirements management and use case analysis.
• Knowledge of system architecture and traceability.
• Familiarity with interface definitions and design assurance.
• Experience with verification, validation and certification.
• Proven ability to produce engineering documentation and analysis.

Salary: Up to £57,000 depending on experience

Location: Stevenage with some hybrid depending on workload classification

Duration: Permanent

Design the system, shape the solution and deliver the capability.

We have an opportunity for a Systems Design Engineer to join a growing team working across the full systems engineering lifecycle, from requirements and architecture through to verification, certification and customer acceptance.

You will work across multiple programmes and variants, coordinating technical stakeholders and contributing to the design and assurance of complex systems.

The role

• Lead Systems Design activities at system level
• Develop and justify system architectures
• Manage requirements, use cases and interfaces
• Develop design assurance and verification strategies
• Support formal certification activities
• Coordinate multiple sub-system stakeholders
• Lead technical trade studies, depending on experience
• Contribute to bid strategies and contract delivery

What are we looking for?

You will bring experience in Systems Engineering, ideally with knowledge of:

• Requirements management and use case analysis
• System architecture and traceability
• Interface definition
• Verification, validation and certification
• Design assurance
• DOORS and formal requirements management
• Technical analysis and engineering documentation
• You will also need strong communication, problem-solving and influencing skills, together with the ability to work across multidisciplinary teams and adapt quickly when priorities change.
