Job summary

Cirrus Selection in Bristol is seeking an experienced Systems Engineer to join a growing team developing advanced, safety-critical technology. You will shape future capabilities, influence product development and ensure engineering solutions meet customer needs across multiple programmes.

The role focuses on requirements engineering, systems thinking, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams. You will work with customers to capture requirements, develop system and software requirements,

Qualifications

• Must have strong requirements engineering experience.
• Experience with complex engineering environments across lifecycle.
• Knowledge of requirements tools DOORS/DOORS Next/Rhapsody.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
• Ability to lead technical discussions with customers.

Responsibilities

• Working closely with customers to understand and capture operational requirements
• Developing system, subsystem and software requirements that deliver practical engineering solutions
• Supporting the development of common product solutions that can be adapted for different customer needs
• Managing engineering change through structured processes and governance
• Acting as the technical customer for specific software developments

• Collaborating with engineering teams across multiple disciplines throughout the product lifecycle

You will play a key role in shaping future capabilities, influencing product development and ensuring engineering solutions meet the evolving needs of customers across multiple programmes.

What you will be doing

• Working closely with customers to understand and capture operational requirements


• Developing system, subsystem and software requirements that deliver practical engineering solutions


• Supporting the development of common product solutions that can be adapted for different customer needs


• Managing engineering change through structured processes and governance


• Acting as the technical customer for specific software developments


• Contributing to system development activities and engineering trade studies


• Collaborating with engineering teams across multiple disciplines throughout the product lifecycle

You will ideally have experience in several of the following:

• Requirements management and requirements derivation


• Systems engineering within a complex engineering environment


• Requirements management tools such as DOORS, DOORS Next or Rhapsody


• Engineering change management and configuration control


• Developing complex systems throughout the engineering lifecycle


• Producing and communicating technical architectures


• Leading technical discussions with customers and stakeholders


• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills


• Experience of product line engineering would be advantageous but is not essential

Package includes
