Job summary

Thales in Templecombe, United Kingdom, seeks a Systems Architect to manage the Systems Engineering process across packages and provide technical leadership to Systems Engineers. You will define what will be designed, how it will perform and how to verify it, working with a team to translate requirements into designs and test strategies.

Responsibilities include converting requirements into designs, developing test plans, coordinating with clients, maintaining quality standards, and guiding staff

Qualifications

• Proven track record in a Systems Engineering environment.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and in a team.
• Desirable: HNC/HND/Engineering Degree or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Converts requirements into conceptual designs and prepares documentation by performing analyses and trade-off studies evaluating alternative configurations.
• Development lifecycle and lifecycle products.
• Interfacing with the client to gain approval of test specifications and host acceptance testing activities.
• Help develop and execute Test Specifications including:
• Develop, implement and maintain tools relevant to the Systems Engineering function. Manage the assessment of relevant tools.
• Defines or proposes updates of processes and standards covering the work and its products based on knowledge of systems engineering.
• Keep abreast of technical development in relevant domain (e.g. sonar systems).
