Job description

We are looking for a System Test Engineer based near Hampshire to join a specialist engineering company developing advanced products used globally to support a safer future. You are ideally a driven, detail-focused professional to help ensure the quality and reliability of our software, embedded systems, and hardware.

Responsibilities
  • Work within a multi-disciplinary design team to test new and updated products, including application software, embedded software, and associated hardware.
  • Develop clear, structured test procedures for new and evolving systems.
  • Provide detailed feedback and collaborate with design engineers to drive improvements.
  • Review and update user guides and technical documentation.
  • Become proficient in a range of innovative products and tools.
  • Manage your workload effectively to meet agreed timelines and quality standards.
  • Contribute to continual improvement of internal quality processes.
  • Undertake training to grow your technical skills.
About You

Experience: 3+ years in a professional testing role, ideally within an engineering company handling embedded systems and hardware.

Technical skills
  • Strong experience in software testing; familiarity with embedded systems is highly advantageous.
  • Ability to write concise test procedures, user documentation, and detailed failure reports.
  • Experience with issue-tracking tools is helpful.
  • Confident with MS Office, especially Word and Excel.
Additional requirements
  • Qualifications demonstrating strong competency in maths and English (GCSEs, A-Levels, HNC, or ideally a higher education qualification in engineering/IT).
  • Eligible for UK MoD security clearance.
  • Clean driving licence advantageous.
  • Willing to work extended hours occasionally when required.
