Responsibilities and Requirements for Systems Engineering and Technical Assurance Role
The ideal candidate will have exposure to, or an interest in, Systems Engineering and Technical Assurance, with experience in applying system safety assurance processes in major railway projects.
- Work collaboratively with project delivery teams, management, project leadership, clients, sub-contractors, and other stakeholders.
- Maintain high standards of verbal and written communication, capable of explaining technical assurance and system engineering concepts to construction teams.
- Understand the roles and responsibilities of various disciplines involved in delivering major railway projects and their relationship to assurance.
- Possess good information management and analytical skills to efficiently extract relevant points from large volumes of project data.
- Experience with project information tools and management systems such as MS Office, Enterprise Bentley, Projectwise, or similar.
- Familiarity with requirements management tools, particularly IBM Rational DOORS.
- Assist the System Safety Manager in maintaining the System Safety Management Plan.
- Liaise with construction leads and subcontractors to ensure appropriate System Safety activities are planned and executed across multiple assets.
- Produce and submit asset-specific system safety status reports to support the assurance process during construction.
- Provide advice on system safety practices and procedures to project teams.
- Prepare and deliver briefings and training to promote system safety competence within the team.
- Report on system safety activities, progress, and issues to the System Safety Manager.
- Contribute to the improvement of technical assurance strategies, processes, and systems.
- Support activities of the wider Systems Engineering & Assurance Team, including tracking assurance deliverables, maintaining configuration control, and contributing to activities for achieving L3 Certification.
