Job summary

gunvor is seeking a System Engineer Team Lead to guide the IT Infrastructure team in securing and scaling our global systems. The role combines hands-on engineering with leadership to deliver reliable enterprise services.

The successful candidate will oversee Microsoft Exchange, Active Directory, VMware, and backup solutions, drive automation, and partner with cross-functional teams across time zones to meet business goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 8+ years in systems engineering with at least 3 years in a leadership or team lead role.
• Proven expertise in Microsoft Exchange (O365 & On-prem), Windows Server, Active Directory, VMware, Intune, and backup solutions (e.g., Veeam).
• Strong understanding of infrastructure architecture, security, and performance optimization.
• Experience managing global environments and supporting systems across multiple time zones.
• Familiarity with ITIL processes, change/incident management, and enterprise monitoring tools.
• MCSE or equivalent certifications are highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Maintain documentation and monitor system health.

Job Description:

The System Engineer Team Lead is part of IT Infrastructure team and reports to the IT Infrastructure Manager.

This role is a senior technical leader responsible for overseeing the global systems infrastructure team. This role combines deep technical expertise with leadership responsibilities, ensuring the stability, scalability, and security of enterprise systems. The Team Lead will guide the team in delivering high-quality support, managing complex projects, and aligning infrastructure initiatives with business and IT strategy.

Main Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of system engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement
• Allocate resources, set priorities, and ensure timely delivery of infrastructure tasks and projects

• Collaborate with project managers and cross-functional teams to ensure smooth transitions from development to production
• Provide architectural input and strategic recommendations aligned with business goals and IT roadmaps

• Communicate effectively with stakeholders, providing updates on system performance, risks, and improvement initiatives
• Participate in audits, disaster recovery planning, and business continuity efforts

Profile
