Job summary

Gunvor Group seeks a System Engineer Team Lead to join the IT Infrastructure team. You will oversee a global systems infrastructure, guide a high‑performing team, and ensure stability, security, and scalability across enterprise environments.

You will manage complex projects, drive automation, and align infrastructure initiatives with IT strategy while collaborating with cross‑functional teams and vendors worldwide.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 8+ years in systems engineering, with at least 3 years in a leadership or team lead role.
• Proven expertise in Microsoft Exchange (O365 & On-prem), Windows Server, Active Directory, VMware, Intune, and backup solutions (e.g., Veeam).
• Strong understanding of infrastructure architecture, security, and performance optimization.
• Experience managing global environments across multiple time zones.
• Familiarity with ITIL processes, change/incident management, and enterprise monitoring tools.
• MCSE or equivalent certifications are highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of system engineers, fostering collaboration and continuous improvement.
• Allocate resources, set priorities, and ensure timely delivery of infrastructure tasks and projects.
• Act as the escalation point for complex technical issues and guide resolution efforts.
• Oversee provisioning, configuration, and maintenance of global systems infrastructure including servers, storage, virtualization, and messaging.
• Drive standardization and automation of infrastructure processes to improve efficiency and reduce risk.
• Ensure systems are managed with SLAs, security policies and compliance requirements.
• Lead or contribute to design and implementation of infrastructure projects such as upgrades and migrations.
• Collaborate with project managers and cross-functional teams for smooth transitions from development to production.
• Provide architectural input and strategic recommendations aligned with business goals and IT roadmaps.
• Oversee administration of Microsoft Exchange (O365 & On-prem), Active Directory, Intune, VMware, and related platforms
• Ensure timely patching, upgrades, and performance tuning per change management
• Maintain documentation, monitor health, and ensure proactive issue detection
• Work with global IT teams, business units, and vendors to ensure service delivery
• Communicate updates on system performance, risks, and improvement initiatives
• Participate in audits, disaster recovery planning, and business continuity efforts

Job Description

The System Engineer Team Lead is part of IT Infrastructure team and reports to the IT Infrastructure Manager. This role is a senior technical leader responsible for overseeing the global systems infrastructure team. This role combines deep technical expertise with leadership responsibilities, ensuring the stability, scalability, and security of enterprise systems. The Team Lead will guide the team in delivering high-quality support, managing complex projects, and aligning infrastructure initiatives with business and IT strategy.
