Job summary

Synergize Consulting Ltd's Bristol-based Defence prime is seeking a security cleared Infrastructure Engineer on a long-term contract to support an ongoing programme.

The role is hands-on, covering Windows and Linux infrastructure, Docker, scripting and Infrastructure as Code, with SC clearance required and a daily rate up to £650 inside IR35.

Qualifications

• Experience managing Windows and Linux infrastructure.
• Scripting experience with PowerShell and Bash.
• Docker image builds, container deployment and networking.
• Experience with Ansible or similar IaC tools.
• Networking knowledge: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing, firewalls.
• Understanding of cybersecurity principles.
• Experience in an Agile Scrum environment.
• Scrum Foundation/Professional certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Build, configure and maintain offline Windows and Linux platforms.
• Import and install software within secure, offline environments.
• Apply changes across subsystems, patching, Group Policy and hardening.
• Research and apply industry best practice for secure, efficient infrastructure.
• Build, manage and maintain offline Docker environments.
• Design and implement IaC solutions for offline Windows and Linux environments.
• Develop and maintain automation using Ansible and PowerShell DSC.
• Troubleshoot infrastructure and application issues and analyze logs.
• Produce clear technical and user-facing documentation.

A leading Defence prime based in the Bristol area are looking to onboard a security cleared Infrastructure Engineer on a long term contract to support an ongoing programme.

This is a highly hands-on role requiring strong experience across Windows and Linux infrastructure, Docker, scripting, networking and Infrastructure as Code.

• Windows and Linux infrastructure experience.
• PowerShell and Bash scripting.
• Docker – image builds, container deployment and networking.
• Infrastructure as Code – Ansible, PowerShell DSC or equivalent.
• Networking – TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing and firewalls.
• Understanding of cyber security principles.
• Experience working in an Agile Scrum environment.
• Scrum Foundation/Professional certification required.

• Develop and maintain automation using technologies such as Ansible and PowerShell DSC.
