Job summary

Synergize Consulting Ltd in Bristol is seeking an Infrastructure/Platform Engineer to support a long-term defence programme. The role covers Windows and Linux infrastructure, Docker, scripting, networking and Infrastructure as Code in a hybrid working setup.

Security clearance (SC) is essential. The contract is long-term (March 2027 expiry) with a daily rate up to £600 Inside IR35.

Qualifications

• Experience across Windows and Linux infrastructure.
• PowerShell and Bash scripting proficiency.
• Docker experience – image builds, container deployment and networking.
• Infrastructure as Code – Ansible, PowerShell DSC or equivalent.
• Networking – TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing and firewalls.
• Understanding of cyber security principles.
• Experience in an Agile Scrum environment.
• Scrum Foundation/Professional certification required.

Responsibilities

• Build, configure and maintain offline Windows and Linux platforms.
• Import and install software within secure, offline environments.
• Apply, manage and maintain changes across the subsystem including Security patching, Group Policy configuration, Windows Registry modifications and System configuration and hardening
• Research and apply industry best practice to ensure secure, efficient and reliable infrastructure.
• Build, manage and maintain offline Docker environments
• Design and implement Infrastructure as Code solutions for offline Windows and Linux environments.
• Develop and maintain automation using technologies such as Ansible and PowerShell DSC.
• Troubleshoot infrastructure and application issues, including analysis of system and application logs.
• Produce clear and comprehensive technical and user-facing documentation.

A leading Defence prime based in the Bristol area are looking to onboard a security cleared Infrastructure/Platform Engineer on a long term contract to support an ongoing programme.
