Our client is seeking a Senior Linux System Administrator to join their expanding organization that supports critical applications in healthcare, finance, and government. The company is privately owned, headquartered in the UK & USA, with offices worldwide. Their software is used daily by millions across more than 100 countries, with a team of over 200 in the UK and 1,800 globally.

The role is based in a prestigious new office near Windsor train station, with a hybrid work model requiring presence in the office 3 days a week due to the vibrant company culture.

You will be involved in designing server layouts, managing space, power, and cooling, and working with engineering teams to optimize performance and efficiency of hosted solutions.

As a senior Linux System Administrator, your responsibilities include supporting hosted services, resolving incidents promptly, and deploying updates.

The core technical environment:

• Linux (RHEL) deployment and management
• Automation with Puppet, Ansible, or Chef
• VMware 6 for managing virtual servers

Experience with live, mission-critical production environments is essential, as server downtime is unacceptable. Troubleshooting, proactive problem identification, and fixing issues are key skills.

Responsibilities:

• Lead deployment of applications and changes, ensuring documentation and monitoring
• Administer and maintain hosted solutions, firewalls, switches, servers, and storage
• Provide technical support for hosted services
• Provision and deploy server, network, and hosting equipment
• Coordinate with stakeholders for pre-operational sign-offs
