CC Bio is an award-winning synthetic biology company, subsidiary of Precisio Biotix Inc. since 2024, based in West London at the Imperial Translation and Innovation Hub (iHUB).

We develop antimicrobial enzymes for next-generation therapeutics, leveraging systems biology, synthetic biology, microbiology, and proprietary ML platforms for enzyme discovery and engineering.

Description of Your Role

Seeking a motivated molecular/synthetic biologist for a 24-month grant-funded project in Women’s Health starting August 2025. The role involves working with bioinformaticians and microbiologists to develop enzyme-based therapeutics targeting anaerobic pathogens, primarily in a wet lab setting.

What You’ll Do in This Role

• Identify enzyme libraries using our Zeus platform, refactor gene sequences, and design recombinant protein production strategies.
• Lead cloning, protein expression, purification, and stability validation in high-throughput formats.
• Interpret experimental data to inform the design of improved enzyme derivatives.
• Maintain detailed records for project reporting and publication.

Requirements

• At least MSc or preferably PhD in molecular biology, synthetic biology, biochemistry, microbiology, or related fields.
• Strong experience with DNA assembly, cloning techniques, PCR, DNA extraction, plasmid prep, SDS-PAGE, Western blotting, and protein purification.
• Experience culturing and modifying E. coli and other microorganisms for protein expression.
• Familiarity with ÄKTA chromatography systems.
• Ability to independently design experiments and interpret literature.

Additional Skills (Nice to Haves)

• Experience in biotech industry, automation, protein stability, crystallography.
