Job summary

High Finance (UK) Limited T/A HFG is seeking a technically strong Syndicate Accountant to join its Lloyd's (re)insurance finance team. The role provides broad exposure to financial reporting, Lloyd's regulatory reporting (QAD/SITUS), audits and finance transformation.

You will work with Finance, Underwriting, Treasury and stakeholders to maintain robust financial controls while driving process improvements and automation programs.

Qualifications

• Part-qualified or qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA or equivalent).
• Experience in a Lloyd's syndicate finance environment.
• Strong experience across financial accounting, journals and reconciliations.
• Exposure to Lloyd's regulatory reporting (QAD and SITUS).
• Experience supporting external audits.

Responsibilities

• Prepare technical and non-technical journals and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Support month-end and year-end financial close processes.
• Prepare Lloyd's regulatory returns (QAD and SITUS).
• Liaise with external auditors and manage audit queries.
• Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial reporting and data.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, automation and controls.
• Support finance transformation projects (chart of accounts and consolidation).
• Collaborate with Treasury and wider Finance teams on financial operations.
• Ensure compliance with Lloyd's reporting requirements and internal governance standards.

An excellent opportunity for a technically strong Syndicate Accountant to join a growing Lloyd's (re)insurance business. The role sits within the Syndicate Finance team and offers broad exposure across financial reporting, Lloyd's regulatory reporting, audit and finance transformation.

You'll work closely with Finance, Underwriting, Treasury and wider stakeholders, playing an important role in maintaining strong financial controls while also contributing to ongoing process improvement and automation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare technical and non-technical journals and balance sheet reconciliations.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will be a part-qualified or qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA or equivalent) with experience within a Lloyd's syndicate finance environment.

You'll ideally have:

• Strong experience across financial accounting, journals and reconciliations.
• Exposure to Lloyd's regulatory reporting, particularly QAD and SITUS.
• Experience supporting external audits.
• A proactive approach to process improvement and finance transformation.
• Strong Excel skills; experience with TM1, Sun or Power Query would be advantageous.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
