Qualifications

• Certification STA ou Swim England Level 2 requise.
• Connaissance des pratiques de sécurité et de protection de l'enfant.
• Expérience dans l'enseignement en groupe ou individuel souhaitée.

Job description

GLL is currently looking for swimming teachers based at Liskeard Leisure Centre. Join us as a swimming teacher and play a key role in developing our customers' swimming skills. This is your chance to deliver safe, consistent swimming lessons that give people confidence in the water and teach an invaluable life skill.

As an experienced swimming teacher, you’ll support individuals to achieve their potential, taking into account their nature and needs. You will draw on your knowledge of practices, progression, and teaching points, applying it effectively. Most of your time will be spent teaching people to become stronger swimmers, whether in groups or one-to-one, and from children to adults, with some administrative tasks involved.

We’re looking for approachable, friendly, and patient swimming teachers who can build trust, motivate pupils, and encourage progress with praise. You’ll need to be STA Award or Certificate level or Swim England Level 2 qualified, and ideally hold the National Rescue Award for Swimming Teachers & Coaches. Knowledge of health, safety, relevant legislation, and Child Protection Policy is essential.

What you will do:

1. Maintain a positive image of the Centre by providing a welcoming, helpful, and professional poolside service.
2. Comply with the ‘Customer Charter’ commitments to maintain standards.
3. Ensure the safety and control of pupils during lessons and enforce relevant regulations.
4. Encourage pupils to enroll in further courses and short courses.
5. Assist with new and re-enrollments as required.
6. Follow the Safeguarding Policy, Behaviour Policy, and other relevant procedures.
7. Record and complete relevant awards, ensuring standards are met.
8. Teach according to the product manual to ensure consistency across centres.
