Join Tom Dean Swim School as a Swimming Instructor

At Tom Dean Swim School, we are looking for dynamic, fun, and skilled swimming teachers to join our growing team, currently based in Berkshire/Buckinghamshire. Applicants should ideally have a SE Level 2 Swimming Teacher Qualification or STA equivalent Certificate. It is also desirable for candidates to have a valid DBS certificate and pool rescue qualifications.

Come and lead safe, effective, meaningful, and engaging lessons for adults and children of varying ages and abilities, including those with additional needs where relevant. Our Level 1 & 2 Swimming Instructors are vital to our community, providing essential life-saving skills to all participants.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Deliver the TDSS program in line with company policy and the Swim England NPTS.
• Teach customers of various ages and abilities, completing all necessary reports.
• Maintain teaching standards, customer care, safeguarding, and health and safety in accordance with company policies.
• Enhance participant retention through quality standards, motivation, and excellent customer care.
• Establish strong communication links with the swim school coordinator, reception, and duty management.
• Deliver TDSS’s 23 bespoke challenges to motivate and stretch students.
• Handle customer inquiries, feedback, and concerns.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Swim England Level 2 Swimming Teacher qualification or equivalent.
• A passion for fitness and swimming.
• Ability to provide excellent service and exceed expectations.
• Strong engagement, communication, and active listening skills.
• Team player willing to share knowledge and best practices.
• Flexibility and adaptability during shifts.
• Professionalism at all times.

Additional Qualifications:

• Swim England Level 2 or STA Full Swimming Instructor Qualification (or equivalent international qualification).
• Experience in swimming instruction.
• Recognized pool rescue award (preferable), or ability to obtain one within a set period.

DBS Requirement:

This role is classified as a regulated post requiring a DBS Disclosure. If not already held, the candidate must undergo a DBS check.
