Tom Dean Swim School is seeking dynamic swimming instructors to join our growing team in Berkshire/Buckinghamshire. Ideal candidates hold Swim England Level 2 or STA qualifications, with DBS and pool rescue preferred or obtainable. Roles focus on safe, engaging lessons for adults and children of varying abilities, including those with additional needs.

The role emphasizes community impact, teamwork, and delivering our bespoke TDSS challenges to improve water confidence and skill levels.

Qualifications

• Swim England Level 2 Swimming Teacher qualification or equivalent.
• Experience in swimming teaching.
• DBS Disclosure required for Level 2 Swimming Instructor positions.
• Pool rescue qualification preferable or obtainable within set period.

Responsibilities

• Deliver TDSS in line with company policy and Swim England NPTS.
• Teach customers of varying ages and abilities per NPTS and complete reports.
• Maintain safeguarding and health and safety standards per policy.
• Maximise retention through quality delivery, motivation and customer care.
• Maintain strong communication with swim school coordinator, reception and duty management.
• Deliver TDSS' 23 bespoke challenges to stretch students.

Swimming Instructors

Level 1 / Level 2 (Self employed)

At Tom Dean Swim School, we are looking for dynamic, fun and skilled swimming teachers to join our ever growing Swim School, currently based in Berkshire/Buckinghamshire. Ideally, applicants should have a SE Level 2 Swimming Teacher Qualification or STA equivalent Certificate. It would be desirable for candidates to already have a valid DBS certificate and pool rescue qualifications.

Come and join our team to lead safe, effective, meaningful and interesting lessons for adults and children of varying ages and abilities, including those with additional needs where relevant. Our Level 1&2 Swimming Instructors are critical to our community, providing an essential life saving skill to all those who participate.

Roles and responsibilities:

• Ensure the successful delivery of the TDSS in line with company policy and the Swim England NPTS.
• Teach customers of a varying age and ability as per the Swim England NPTS and complete all necessary reports.
• Ensure teaching, customer care, Safeguarding and health and safety standards are maintained in line with company policy.
• Maximise the retention of swim school participants through quality standards, motivation and customer care.
• Ensure strong communication links between yourself, the swim school coordinator, reception and duty management.
• Passionate about delivering TDSS' 23 bespoke challenges to stretch our students.
• Deal with customer enquiries, feedback and concerns.

What skills / qualifications do we need from you?

• A Swim England Level 2 Swimming Teacher qualification or equivalent.
• A genuine passion for fitness and swimming.
• Ability to provide great service and exceed expectations.
• Have strong engagement, good communication and active listening skills.
• Be a great team player and happy to share knowledge and best practice.
• Be flexible and can adapt to changes on shift.
• Be professional at all times.

Qualifications:

• Have a Swim England Level 2 or STA Full Swimming Instructor Qualifications. (or the equivalent international qualification)
• Have experience of swimming teaching.
• Have or have held a recognised pool rescue award (preferable). Or be able to obtain it within a set period if not held.

DBS

Level 2 Swimming Instructor positions are classed as a regulated post and therefore will require a DBS Disclosure. Where the individual does not already hold a DBS Disclosure, it will be necessary for the post holder to be submitted for a DBS check.
