Job summary

The Priory City of Lincoln Academy is seeking a motivated Swimming Instructor to join our Junior Learn to Swim programme within the SportsCentre. You will teach Stage 4-7 lessons to improver swimmers aged 4-16, helping them gain confidence and water safety skills.

Applicants must have a Level 1 or Level 2 Swimming Teacher qualification; NPLQ or NRASTC is preferred. Training can be offered to the successful candidate, with relief work on other days possible.

Qualifications

• Level 1 or Level 2 Swimming Teacher qualification required.
• NPLQ or NRASTC qualification preferred; full training can be offered to the successful candidate.
• Commitment to SEN support and delivering learning activities in line with student needs.
• Passion for removing barriers and improving learner outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality Stage 4-7 swimming lessons to improver swimmers.
• Monitor progress, assess abilities, and manage class progression.
• Promote water safety and confidence in the water.
• Work with colleagues to support students with SEN/ EHCP requirements.
• Deliver learning activities to individuals and small groups.
• Training will be provided as necessary.

An exciting opportunity has come available for a motivated and passionateSwimming Instructor to join our Junior Learn to Swim Programme within the SportsCentre

The rolewould require working on a Monday and Friday evening 4-6.30pm (option tosplit hours between two Swimming Instructors) alongside other staff membersof Junior Learn to Swim and the Sports Centre. There would be options forrelief work on other days of Junior Learn to Swim alongside relief work forPrimary School swimming lessons during the day.

RoleSummary

Our Junior Learn to Swimprogramme supports children aged 4-16 years, with most current swimmers aged6-11 years. As a swimming instructor you will deliver high-quality Stage 4-7swimming lessons to improver swimmers, helping children develop confidence inthe water, enhance their swimming technique, and achieve recognised badgeawards. You will monitor progress, assess abilities, manage classprogression, and promote a strong understanding of water safety.

Applicants must hold a Level 1or Level 2 Swimming Teacher qualification. An NPLQ or NRASTC qualificationwould be preferred, although full training can be offered to the successfulcandidate.

The successful applicant will supportspecific needs in accordance with the requirements of students individual SENProfile / Educational Health Care Plan.They will be passionate about removing barriers and committed toworking with colleagues to improve outcomes for learners. The successful applicant will have theopportunity to deliver learning activities to both individual students andsmall groups.
