Job description

Swimming Teacher - Thame, Oxfordshire

GLL is seeking experienced swimming teachers in Thame, Oxfordshire. Join us to help develop our customers' swimming skills and provide safe, confident, and enjoyable swimming lessons for all ages.

As a swimming teacher, you will support pupils in achieving their potential by tailoring your approach to their needs, applying best practices, and ensuring effective progression. Most of your time will be dedicated to teaching, with some administrative tasks involved.

We seek approachable, friendly, and patient individuals who can build trust, motivate, and praise pupils. Candidates should hold STA Award or Certificate level, or Swim England Level 2 qualifications, and ideally possess the National Rescue Award for Swimming Teachers & Coaches. Knowledge of health, safety, legislation, and Child Protection Policy is essential.

Responsibilities:

1. Maintain a positive and professional image of the Centre by providing welcoming and helpful service.
2. Ensure compliance with the ‘Customer Charter’ standards.
3. Guarantee the safety and control of pupils during lessons and enforce relevant regulations.
4. Encourage pupils to enroll in further courses and assist with enrolments as needed.
5. Follow Safeguarding and Behaviour policies outlined in the Swim School guidelines.
6. Record and complete relevant awards, ensuring standards are met.
7. Teach according to the product manual to ensure consistency across centres.
