Job summary

Freedom Leisure is seeking a Swim Teacher for Goldenstones Leisure Centre to deliver swimming lessons to people of all ages and abilities. Training will be provided, and casual hours apply, with a focus on safety and customer support in the pool.

You will teach, monitor progress, and engage with families while upholding high standards of service within a charitable leisure trust across England and Wales.

Qualifications

• Requires Level 2 swimming teaching qualification.
• Enhanced DBS check required.
• Excellent communication with customers and parents.

Responsibilities

• Supervise pool area to ensure safety and discipline.

Job description

If you like talking to people, this is definitely the role for you. We understand that engaging with customers and colleagues is not as easy as it sounds and sometimes comes with experience. We will provide all the training needed to be a successful Swim Teacher but we also believe that employing people from a mix of employment backgrounds can offer a wider benefit to our team, some of which might be in their first ever job and need more support from their manager and colleagues. In the role of Swim Teacher, you will deliver swimming lessons at Goldenstones Leisure Centre to customers of all ages and abilities ensuring they feel supported and are achieving their goals. In the event that a high volume of suitable applications are received, the post may close prior to the specified closing date. Hours: Casual hours, as and when required.

• To teach swimming to children and/or adults as part of the Leisure Centre's swimming lesson programme, according to qualification, training and experience
• To communicate with the children's parents/guardians concerning their development, and advise on their progression through the programme
• To assist in the supervision of customers in the swimming pool and surrounds, ensuring their safety and discipline
• Excellent communication skills with a genuine desire to work closely with customers.
• An ability to deal with children and their parents
• Level 2 swimming teaching qualification
• Enhanced DBS check
