Job summary

Freedom Leisure is seeking a Swim Teacher to deliver swimming lessons to customers of all ages and abilities. Casual hours as needed, with training provided to support development. You will engage with parents and ensure pool safety, under the guidance of centre staff.

Applicants should have a Level 2 swimming teaching qualification (or be willing to gain it) and be able to obtain an Enhanced DBS check. We welcome applicants from diverse backgrounds and provide training and support to help you

• Level 2 swimming teaching qualification or willingness to gain qualification as training can be provided
• Excellent communication skills with a genuine desire to work closely with customers
• An ability to deal with children and their parents

Responsibilities

• To teach swimming to children and/or adults as part of the Leisure Centre's swimming lesson programme, according to qualification, training and experience
• To communicate with the children's parents/guardians concerning their development, and advise on their progression through the programme
• To assist in the supervision of customers in the swimming pool and surrounds, ensuring their safety and discipline
• Excellent communication skills with a genuine desire to work closely with customers
• An ability to deal with children and their parents

Job description

If you like talking to people, this is definitely the role for you. We understand that engaging with customers and colleagues is not as easy as it sounds and sometimes comes with experience. We will provide all the training needed to be a successful Swim Teacher but we also believe that employing people from a mix of employment backgrounds can offer a wider benefit to our team, some of which might be in their first ever job and need more support from their manager and colleagues. In the role of Swim Teacher, you will deliver swimming lessons to customers of all ages and abilities ensuring they feel supported and are achieving their goals. In the event that a high volume of suitable applications are received, the post may close prior to the specified closing date. Hours: Casual hours, as and when needed.

• To teach swimming to children and/or adults as part of the Leisure Centre's swimming lesson programme, according to qualification, training and experience
