Leisure & Culture Dundee, part of Dundee City Council, is seeking a Swim Teacher (Assignable) to deliver Learn to Swim and ASN programmes across Active Dundee sites such as Grove, Harris, Olympia, Lochee and Baldragon.

Shifts are arranged 50 weeks a year with additional hours for holidays and sickness; PVG scheme updates may be required. A passion for teaching aquatic skills and flexible scheduling are essential.

• Current National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) & Scottish Swimming Teaching Qualification (SSTQ) or willing to work toward SSTQ while holding UKCC Level 1 equivalent.

Responsabilidades

• Assist the Aquatics Development Manager and Aquatic Lessons Coordinator with delivering the full range of teaching functions and customer service requirements for Leisure & Culture Dundee's city-wide aquatics programmes.
• Follow Health & Safety guidelines, Safe Systems of Work and complete daily registers for participants; support development of teaching skills across ages and abilities.
• Organise sessions and times effectively, working with a team to ensure smooth operation across multiple sites.

Leisure & Culture Dundee is a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (SCIO) SC042421.

It was established by Dundee City Council in July 2011 to deliver leisure, sports, library, information and cultural services for the city.

Working as a Swim Teacher (Assignable), you may be required to work across Active Dundee sites: Grove Swim & Sport, Harris Swim & Sport, Olympia, Lochee Swim & Leisure Centre and Baldragon.

Candidates will operate a full range of activities, Learn to Swim & ASN and help support the development of new programmes.

There are various shifts available. Please select from the options detailed. Our learn to swim programme operates 50 weeks of the year with no programme operating during the Dundee school festive break.

Additional hours will be available to assist covering holiday programmes, holidays and sickness.

Candidates should select from the list of available shifts below:

• Olympia: Tuesday 3.45-8.45pm
• St Paul’s Swim & Sports Centre: Monday 5.15-9.15pm, Wednesday 5.15-9.15pm, Friday 5.15-9.15pm, Saturday 8.45-12.45pm
• Grove Swim & Sports centre: Monday 5.15-9.15pm (2 posts)
• Tuesday 5.15-9.15pm

Requirements

Responsibilities

To assist the Aquatics Development Manager and Aquatic Lessons Coordinator with delivering the full range of teaching functions and customer service requirements relating to Leisure and Culture Dundee’s involvement in schools and the City-wide aquatics programmes.

The Individual

You will have experience of planning structured activity/sports sessions, as well as excellent communication skills to work within a team and have the ability to organise sessions and time effectively.

You will be required to follow Health & Safety guidelines, Safe Systems of Work and complete Daily registers for participants along with continual assessments. You must be willing to develop your teaching skills whilst working with all ages, abilities and aquatic disciplines.

The ability to work flexible hours at citywide centres and a willingness to undertake training opportunities for purposes of both personal and service development are essential for this post.

This post is considered Regulated Work with Children and/or Protected Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior work being offered by Leisure & Culture Dundee.
