Job summary

The King’s School Sports Centre is seeking experienced Level 2 Swimming Instructors to join a friendly, professional team. The role covers a broad programme including Duckling through Learn to Swim stages, Swim Academy, adults, crash courses and private lessons.

Shifts run 7 days a week with daytime, evening and weekend slots. Applicants should include available days/times in their covering letter. DBS checks and safeguarding adherence are required.

Qualifications

• Level 2 Teaching Swimming Qualification is essential.
• Level 2 Teaching Swimming to Babies and Toddlers is desirable.
• Level 1 Coaching Qualification is desirable.
• Current Lifesaving or Teachers Rescue Qualification is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Deliver swimming lessons across the programme (Discovery Duckling to Learn to Swim stages).
• Co-ordinate and teach adults and children, including private and crash courses.
• Match availability with staffing rota; work daytime, evenings and weekends.
• Contribute to high standards of teaching and safeguarding.

Multiple hours available across 7 days

£23.57 per hour

35 weeks per year

Based in the stunning setting of the Precincts of Canterbury Cathedral and St Augustine’s Abbey, a World Heritage Site, The King’s School is one of the oldest and most prestigious Schools in the country with an enviable record of academic excellence and achievement.

The King’s School Sports Centre are looking for experienced Level 2 Swimming Instructors to join their friendly, highly recommended, and professional team.

The Centre’s extensive swimming programme includes lessons for Discovery Duckling & Duckling, Learn to Swim Stages 1 to 7, Swim Academy (Stage 8 and above), Adults (beginners, improvers and training), Crash Courses and Private lessons.

Our Centre operates 7 days a week, offering daytime, evening, and weekend shifts. When applying, please include in your covering letter the days and times you are available to work, this will help us match your availability with our staffing rota and operational needs.

The successful candidate should have a strong background in aquatics and have a true love of teaching, including experience of teaching and coaching adults.

• Level 1 Coaching Qualification

Additional hours are available during term breaks for crash courses and private lessons.
