National Salary: £40,000 - £60,000
Are you passionate about sustainability and eager to make a real impact? Aviva is looking for a dedicated Sustainable Business Manager to help us lead the UK financial services sector on climate action, build stronger, more resilient communities, and operate as a sustainable business.
A bit about the job:
Manage Aviva’s approach to key sustainability benchmarks and indices, including SASB, CDP, Sustainalytics, S&P, and the UN Global Compact. Serve as an expert on anti-greenwashing, ensuring our sustainability claims are accurate and credible. Coordinate key anti-greenwashing initiatives and collaborate with relevant teams. Support broader sustainable business initiatives, including advancing Aviva’s human rights agenda. This involves supporting activities such as human rights due diligence and policy reviews, developing internal Just Transition strategies, and managing human rights risks through risk assessments, monitoring, and reporting Support reputation risk management and communications regarding ESG controversies. Contribute to end-of-year reporting for sustainability and the annual report, including ESG data sheets and external framework mapping.
Skills and experience we’re looking for:
Broad understanding of ESG and responsible business practice with experience in managing ESG benchmarks and indices.
Expertise in anti-greenwashing practices with basic knowledge of human rights principles.
Strong project management skills, especially in complex cross-functional projects.
Data and analytics skills to gather insights from sustainability data.
Understanding of financial services and Aviva’s corporate strategy (financial services experience desirable but not essential).

Starting salary between £40,000 and £70,000 (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications)
