Job summary

Chester Zoo is seeking a Sustainability Manager to turn the organisation's Sustainability Policy into practical action across all teams. You will lead reporting, drive compliance and embed sustainability into day-to-day decisions, while developing guidance, business cases and funding opportunities to enable change.

You will work with the Head of Sustainability, senior managers and the Board to deliver carbon, waste, procurement and biodiversity initiatives, ensuring governance and measurable

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent experience in sustainability or environmental field.
• Proven experience leading compliance and sustainability initiatives.
• Ability to collate and present data for reporting.
• Experience working with diverse cross-organisational teams.

Responsibilities

• Manage sustainability reporting and regulatory compliance across the organisation.
• Programme manage initiatives to embed sustainability and drive carbon, waste, procurement, biodiversity.
• Support governance with Sustainability Steering Group, the Executive and the Board; produce presentations and business cases.
• Progress sustainability targets with Delivery Groups; develop procedures and action plans.
• Identify and secure investment, manage budget, and funding proposals.
• Advise on best practice and external engagement external stakeholders.
