The difference you will make as a Sustainability Investment Manager
As a Sustainability Investment Manager, you will develop and drive the delivery of a decarbonisation programme aimed at achieving EPC Band C in Riverside Group Homes by 2030 and Net Zero Carbon by 2050. You will ensure the group has a full understanding of current and projected sustainability performance through continuous data improvement. You will seek out funding opportunities that maximize our investment in our stock and develop processes for managing sustainability assets to benefit our customers.

- Knowledge of developing and delivering energy efficiency action plans using large, complex data sets, identifying anomalies, and proposing solutions.
- Adept at working in a customer-focused environment, engaging with customers and colleagues, providing advice and support regarding energy efficiency works and financial models.
- Understanding of risk management, property management, and property-related compliance requirements.

Role Profile
- Work with regional and national stakeholders to identify, develop, and deliver projects that improve environmental asset performance.
- Develop the Group’s decarbonisation programme for retrofit energy efficiency measures and support sustainability initiatives, including:
- Office spaces
- Commercial spaces
- Renewables
- Open space planning
- Innovative products and processes
Develop investment scenarios and technical requirements across the portfolio to meet EPC C by 2030 and Net Zero Carbon by 2050.Create an energy data improvement plan, oversee data collection and processing, and maintain a plan to enhance portfolio energy efficiency.Collaborate to improve data integrity, ensure effective communication, and monitor compliance.Identify and secure external funding through grants, liaising with financial sectors, government bodies, and funding agencies, including writing applications and managing grants.Develop and monitor sustainability metrics to track success.Innovate and ensure the right programmes, technologies, and standards are adopted to prioritize customer needs.Understand offerings from manufacturers and suppliers, including services, technology, and data management.Support stock rationalization and disposal planning.Assist in medium- to long-term investment planning, including budgeting and strategy development.Manage budgets and control asset management expenditures, reporting on over/under-spending.Monitor investment costs and support cost-reduction strategies.Manage internal and external stakeholders, providing advice and building relationships to deliver the Asset Management Strategy.Continuously improve processes using project evaluations and Building Performance Evaluation data.Respond flexibly to work priority changes and undertake additional duties as needed.Ensure compliance with data protection, health, and safety policies and statutory requirements.Person specification
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
Essential
- Proven ability to develop skills and capacity for net-zero carbon delivery through partnerships with suppliers, developers, and authorities.
- Strong analytical skills to evaluate complex data, develop strategies, and present findings clearly.
- Knowledge of funding streams for decarbonization.
- Understanding of legislation and good practices in social housing.
- Experience in the building industry, especially within sustainability or social housing sectors.
- Project management expertise.
- Effective stakeholder management and influencing skills.
- Customer-focused with excellent communication skills at all levels.
- Results-oriented with strong analytical and management reporting skills.
- Relevant environmental science degree or professional memberships (e.g., IEMA, CIAT, RICS, CIOB).
- Experience delivering large-scale energy efficiency projects.
- Post-occupancy evaluation experience.
- Knowledge of PAS2035 standards.
