Job summary
Navantia UK seeks an Environmental & Sustainability Advisor to lead compliance with environmental legislation, drive sustainability performance, and integrate responsible practices across shipyard operations. You will work with engineering and production teams to minimise environmental impact in welding, painting, and related activities.
The role requires a degree in Environmental Science or related field, with experience in heavy industry and marine environmental regulations.
Qualifications
- Degree in Environmental Science, Marine Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related field.
- Relevant experience in an environmental or sustainability role within heavy industry (preferably shipbuilding, marine, or offshore).
- Knowledge of marine environmental regulations and standards.
- Experience conducting site inspections and environmental audits.
Responsibilities
- Ensure all shipyard operations comply with environmental regulations and permits.
- Lead or support ISO 14001 audits and environmental impact assessments.
- Monitor emissions, waste handling, and hazardous materials in shipyard operations.
- Deliver environmental training and raise awareness among staff and contractors.
- Prepare reports and dashboards for regulators, clients and internal stakeholders.
