Job summary

PT Renewables is seeking a Carbon/Sustainability Consultant in Surrey for a permanent role with a base salary up to £45,000 plus bonus opportunities. You will work with international clients on carbon, data and decarbonisation projects, not just reporting, and you’ll engage in opportunities to support business development.

Develop your expertise in Scope 1-3 emissions, data analysis and SBTi alignment while contributing to decarbonisation roadmaps and practical client recommendations.

Qualifications

• Experience in sustainability, carbon or environmental consulting.
• Practical knowledge of GHG Protocol and corporate carbon footprinting.
• Understanding of Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions.
• Familiarity with science-based targets (SBTi).
• Strong analytical and numerical skills, particularly in Excel.

Responsibilities

• Develop Scope 1, 2 and 3 GHG assessments for clients.
• Analyse emissions data and translate into actionable insights and recommendations.
• Support SBTi alignment and net-zero strategies.
• Develop decarbonisation roadmaps and action plans.
• Quantify carbon reduction opportunities and associated costs.

Carbon/Sustainability Consultant | Surrey | Permanent | up to £45,000 + bonus opportunities

If you’ve built a few years of experience in sustainability or carbon consulting and you’re looking for a role where you can take on more responsibility, work with international clients and genuinely develop your career, this could be a good next step.

PT Renewables is partnered with a growing, international, sustainability consultancy that supports commercial and industrial organisations across the UK, Europe and globally.

Your work will largely sit around carbon, data and decarbonisation, rather than simply producing reports and moving on.

You’ll be involved in things like:

• Developing Scope 1, 2 and 3 GHG assessments for commercial and international clients
• Analysing emissions data and turning it into meaningful insight and recommendations
• Supporting SBTi alignment and wider net-zero strategies
• Developing decarbonisation roadmaps and action plans
• Quantifying carbon reduction opportunities and considering the associated costs
• Providing recommendations for clients after analysing their carbon

There’s also a commercial element to the role. Consultants aren't completely separated from the sales process - you'll have opportunities to get involved in introductory client conversations, identify opportunities and help develop new areas of the sustainability business.

About you

• A few years' experience in sustainability, carbon or environmental consulting
• Practical experience with GHG Protocol and corporate carbon footprinting
• An understanding of Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions
• Knowledge of SBTi / science-based targets
• Strong analytical and numerical skills, particularly in Excel
• The ability to take data and turn it into practical recommendations
• An interest in decarbonisation, net-zero strategy and the commercial side of sustainability
