Job description

This is an outstanding opportunity to join our highly influential Smart Energy and Sustainability (SES) team.

We are looking to recruit a Graduate Consultant who is enthusiastic about driving a sustainable, net-zero future, with a focus on developing strategies.

You will develop your technical skills through a variety of complex projects and be supported in soft skills development via our early careers learning and development program: ‘The Learning Curve’.

You’ll be part of our collaborative and growing team across the UK, helping with the development and delivery of exciting and complex projects.

Responsibilities

This role offers the chance to develop our local service offering within a wider UK team. You will be proactive in supporting the development of this offering in response to evolving legislative drivers.

Your key responsibilities will include:
  • Assist with the delivery of BREEAM projects, supported by a senior team member;
  • Energy Strategies and LCA assessment;
  • Managing your workload to meet project deadlines;
  • Reviewing project details and setting sustainability targets;
  • Assessing documentation against targets and providing feedback;
  • Maintaining projects via the evidence tracker;
  • Communicating sustainability requirements to teams;
  • Producing reports for clients and teams;
  • Attending site visits to review progress;
  • Reviewing project performance monthly and updating trackers;
  • Assisting in bids and proposals;
  • Engaging with skills networks for best practices;
  • Arranging meetings, taking minutes, and following up on actions;
  • Completing training to become a certified BREEAM Assessor/Advisory Professional (AP).
Essential Skills and Qualifications
  • Relevant degree (BEng (Hons) or BSc (Hons) or equivalent/higher);
  • Passion for innovation and problem solving;
  • Humility, self-motivation, enthusiasm;
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and writing skills;
  • Understanding of the construction industry and built environment.
Additional Attributes (Optional)
  • Part L modelling (TAS) and LCA experience (One Click LCA);
  • Fluency in additional languages and English;
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
Preferred Academic Knowledge
  • Building physics, environmental design, or sustainability disciplines;
  • Building performance modelling techniques;
  • Planning, impact assessments, or sustainability legislation;
  • Technical ability in building services disciplines.
