Our Sustainability and Carbon team is seeking a capable Sustainability and Carbon Consultant with experience in embedding sustainability into large infrastructure projects and corporate strategies who can start delivering impact immediately. Based within the Infrastructure division’s Sustainable Futures Practice, this team supports clients on their sustainability journey. AtkinsRéalis is a global leader in design, engineering, and project management with over 30,000 employees, offering the chance to shape significant projects and promote a sustainable future.

We advise clients on decarbonisation, performance enhancement, and sustainability assessments, utilizing advanced digital tools. Our work spans sectors like energy, water, transport, and government.

The successful candidate will collaborate across teams and project lifecycles, creating positive change for high-profile UK clients. We value capability and eagerness to learn, rewarding growth and contribution.

Location: Manchester or Bristol

Working arrangements: Hybrid and flexible options available

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting carbon, sustainability, and net zero initiatives for major infrastructure projects.
  • Developing innovative strategies, designs, and management plans.
  • Managing sustainability inputs on projects.
  • Representing the company externally and enhancing reputation.
  • Contributing to bid proposals and maintaining win themes.

Requirements:

  • Degree in environmental/engineering discipline; professional registration preferred, master’s advantageous.
  • Experience in carbon reporting, decarbonisation, sustainability assessments, and related areas.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and stakeholder engagement experience.
  • Excellent report writing, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Knowledge of UK sustainability standards such as GHG Protocol and PAS2080.
