Job summary

Trowers & Hamlins seeks a Sustainability Advisor to join the Operations team in Manchester. The role focuses on delivering environmental and net zero initiatives, shaping strategy, and embedding sustainable practices throughout the organisation.

You will drive carbon reduction, analyse environmental data, and coordinate reporting and audits while engaging stakeholders at all levels to achieve continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Experience in sustainability/environmental/ESG roles.
• Understanding of carbon accounting, greenhouse gas reporting, net zero.
• Project management with timely delivery of initiatives.
• Strong data interpretation and presentation skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement at all levels.
• A proactive approach to prioritising multiple tasks.
• Strong Excel skills and data handling.
• Relevant sustainability qualification is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Support development and delivery of sustainability strategy and carbon reduction initiatives.
• Drive improvements in environmental performance across the business.
• Gather, analyse and report environmental data and emissions.
• Manage sustainability projects from planning to delivery.
• Support environmental reporting, disclosures and carbon plans.
• Coordinate responses to client sustainability questionnaires, audits and tenders.
• Work with suppliers and internal stakeholders to improve performance.
• Assist with environmental management systems, policies and compliance.
• Produce engaging sustainability communications and campaigns.
• Monitor legislation and best practice to drive ongoing improvement.

Are you passionate about driving meaningful environmental change and helping organisations achieve their sustainability ambitions? We are looking for a Sustainability Advisor to join a forward-thinking team, supporting the delivery of environmental and net zero initiatives across the business. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced sustainability professional to play a key role in shaping strategy, influencing stakeholders and embedding sustainable practices throughout the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

As a Sustainability Advisor, you will support the development and delivery of the organisation's sustainability strategy, helping to drive continuous improvement across environmental performance and carbon reduction initiatives.

• Supporting the implementation of sustainability and net zero objectives across the business.
• Collecting, analysing and reporting environmental and carbon emissions data.
• Managing sustainability projects and initiatives from planning through to delivery.
• Supporting environmental reporting requirements, disclosures and carbon reduction plans.
• Coordinating responses to client sustainability questionnaires, audits and tender requests.
• Working with suppliers and internal stakeholders to improve sustainability performance.
• Assisting with environmental management systems, policies and compliance activities.
• Producing engaging sustainability communications and awareness campaigns.
• Monitoring industry developments, legislation and best practice to support ongoing improvement.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

The successful candidate will be a proactive and enthusiastic sustainability professional with strong analytical, organisational and stakeholder engagement skills.

• Previous experience within a sustainability, environmental or ESG-focused role.
• An understanding of carbon accounting, greenhouse gas reporting and net zero principles.
• Experience managing projects and delivering initiatives within agreed timescales.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret and present data effectively.
• Excellent communication skills and confidence when engaging with stakeholders at all levels.
• A proactive approach with the ability to manage competing priorities effectively.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
• A relevant sustainability, environmental or related qualification would be advantageous.
