Job summary

Allen & York Ltd is seeking an Environmental & Sustainability Senior Advisor to join its growing ESG team in Crewe. You will own environmental activities, develop knowledge across regulation, carbon management and low-carbon mobility, and work with the Climate Change & Environment Manager to strengthen the EMS framework.

Qualifications

• Experience in environmental or sustainability role.
• Hands-on ISO 14001 experience.
• Knowledge of environmental legislation and carbon data handling.

Responsibilities

• Support and develop the Environmental Management System (EMS), ensuring alignment with ISO 14001.
• Lead preparations for the ISO 14001 2026 transition.
• Maintain environmental policies, procedures, governance and compliance documentation.
• Manage the Environmental Legal Register and monitor legislative changes across multiple jurisdictions.
• Coordinate carbon footprint data and develop expertise in carbon accounting platforms.
• Support sustainability reporting requirements, including CSRD, SECR and ESOS.
• Monitor emerging environmental, energy and EV legislation across the UK and Europe.
• Build strong internal relationships to improve environmental awareness, engagement and performance.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Environmental & Sustainability Senior Advisor to join a growing Sustainability & ESG team within an international technology and mobility business.

As the organisation continues its transition towards electric vehicles, alternative fuels and lower-carbon solutions, sustainability is becoming increasingly important to its operations and long-term strategy. This newly created role offers the opportunity to take ownership of key environmental activities while developing expertise across environmental regulation, carbon management, sustainability reporting and low-carbon mobility.

Working closely with the Climate Change & Environment Manager, you will help strengthen the organisation's environmental management framework and drive continuous improvement across the business.

Key Responsibilities

• Support and develop the Environmental Management System (EMS), ensuring alignment with ISO 14001.
• Lead preparations for the ISO 14001 2026 transition.
• Maintain environmental policies, procedures, governance and compliance documentation.
• Manage the Environmental Legal Register and monitor legislative changes across multiple jurisdictions.

About You

You will ideally have experience in an environmental or sustainability role, hands-on ISO 14001 experience, strong knowledge of environmental legislation and experience working with environmental or carbon data.

A proactive approach, strong ownership mindset and interest in emerging technologies, AI and digital sustainability tools will be highly valued.
