Job summary

Jang, located in the Mezzanine of the Royal Exchange, is seeking a passionate Sushi Chef to join our high-energy kitchen.

You will prepare high-quality sushi and Asian-inspired dishes, work closely with the Head Chef, and uphold Health & Safety standards while contributing to a collaborative team. Experience in Korean/Japanese cuisine and legal right to work in the UK are valued.

About the Role

As a Sushi Chef at Jang, you will play a key role in our kitchen, responsible for preparing and presenting high-quality sushi and Asian-inspired dishes. You will be working closely with the Head Chef and supporting the kitchen's day-to-day operations. Responsibilities:

• Prepare sushiand other Asian-inspired dishes to the highest standards.
• Support the Head Chefwith the smooth and efficient operation of the kitchen.
• Ensure Health & Safety standardsare adhered to and communicate these effectively to the team.
• Collaborate with the kitchen teamto produce high-quality food and maintain a positive work environment.
• Maintain a clean and organized kitchento meet hygiene standards.

The Ideal Candidate:

• Experience: Extensive knowledge of sushi preparation is essential! Previous experience in a similar role within an Asian cuisine restaurant is highly desirable.
• Skills:A passion for creating high-quality dishes with a keen eye for detail.
• Work Ethic:Highly motivated, proactive, and enthusiastic with a can-do attitude.
• Team Player:Ability to work well within a team, supporting colleagues and the Head Chef.
• Knowledge:Understanding of Korean and Japanese cuisine is a bonus.
• Legal Right to Work:Must have legal rights to work in the UK.

What We Offer:

• Salary up to £17 per hour, depending on the experience.
