About the Role:
A growing commercial property consultancy is looking to appoint a Retail Property Manager at Surveyor or Senior Surveyor level to join their established team in London. This full-time role involves managing a national retail portfolio, predominantly focused on shopping centres and multi-let assets.
The role is ideal for someone with a proactive and commercial mindset who enjoys building relationships, managing on-site teams, and driving asset performance across operational, financial, and ESG metrics.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee day-to-day property management across a national portfolio, with a strong focus on shopping centres
- Manage health and safety compliance across sites
- Lead service charge budgeting and expenditure forecasting on multi-let properties
- Liaise closely with property accounts teams to ensure accurate financial management and reporting
- Provide strategic lease management advice to maximise tenant satisfaction and retention
- Deliver timely, high-quality client reporting in line with contractual requirements
- Work collaboratively with internal teams, site staff, and external stakeholders
- Lead and support contract tendering for single and multi-site services
- Play an active role in improving profitability and operational efficiency
- Manage marketing and commercialisation strategy for the portfolio
- Implement and oversee business rates mitigation strategies
- Minimise insurance risk and claims across managed properties
- Maintain strong client relationships and attend review meetings
- Mentor and guide junior team members and support staff
- Oversee on-site teams, including line management, performance support, and career development
- Conduct monthly or quarterly site inspections
- Ensure ESG strategy is being effectively delivered across the portfolio
What We're Looking For:
- Industry experience in commercial property management, ideally with exposure to retail or shopping centre environments
- MRICS-qualified (preferred but not essential)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Confident with Microsoft Office and property management systems
- Knowledge of relevant legislation, service charge practice, and landlord/tenant responsibilities
- Experience managing multiple stakeholder relationships and driving consensus
- Strong budgeting and financial acumen
