To put it into numbers, we complete more than one property inspection every 12 seconds and employ over 600 surveyors from Land’s End to John O’Groats and Northern Ireland. This gives us the flexibility to offer nationwide coverage combined with invaluable local knowledge.

We're part of the LSL Property Services Group PLC, which includes household names Your Move and Reeds Rains as well as the mortgage network PRIMIS. We work with lenders, intermediaries, social housing entities, estate agents, and private customers.

The Surveying Quality Manager will work as part of the wider Technical and Quality teams who assist the Head of Quality in providing advisory services to internal stakeholders. The role will involve active monitoring of surveyor technical compliance and provision of technical guidance to the business and suppliers.

Regular national travel may be required, with presence in the Kettering Office (NN15 6PP) to suit business needs.

Main Accountabilities

  1. Maintain and enhance internal policies and controls within the Quality and Technical teams.
  2. Work closely with Customer Care to mitigate indemnity claims and the Post Valuation Query team to reduce queries into the business.
  3. Serve as a subject matter expert on internal products in collaboration with the Project Team.
  4. Attend internal meetings regularly.
  5. Monitor industry news and policy changes, reacting accordingly.
  6. Contribute articles and analysis on industry press issues affecting the sector, including detailed analysis of the residential market.
  7. Create and distribute guidance to internal stakeholders.
  8. Respond to internal technical and policy queries within SLA.
  9. Support Learning and Development by creating internal compliance training materials.
  10. Become a Technical and Quality lead within the B2C environment, providing guidance on reports, MI analysis, and audit support.
  11. Participate in audits and ensure quality compliance.
  12. Contribute to contract discussions, especially as SME for B2C Products.
  13. Assist with internal risk reports and dashboards used across the business.
  14. Become a subject matter expert on internal policies and processes, including managing the Valuation Controls Manual.
  15. Contribute to quarterly, monthly, and milestone reporting.
  16. Utilize analytical skills to interpret data, identify trends, and generate strategic recommendations.

Knowledge and Expertise

  1. Detailed knowledge of RICS "Red Book" requirements.
  2. Knowledge of current trends and emerging issues in residential surveying and valuation.
  3. Practical expertise in completing valuation and survey instructions.
  4. Experience in the residential surveying and valuation market.
  5. Understanding of the end-to-end mortgage origination process.

Qualifications

  • Valuer Registration Scheme accreditation
