Job summary

Spire Nottingham Hospital is seeking a nursing team lead on the surgical ward for a 12-month fixed-term maternity leave cover. The role deputises for and leads a team of clinical and non-clinical staff, setting standards for nursing care, safety, and infection control.

The post covers day and night shifts, and, due to limited public transport, candidates need their own transport. Current NMC registration with no restriction on practice is required.

Qualifications

• Current NMC registration with no restriction on practice.
• Experience of working in surgical settings.
• Good management experience in a similar role, with a proven ability to lead a team and develop nursing services.

Responsibilities

• Deputise for and lead a team of clinical and non-clinical staff
• Provide clinical leadership to ensure consistently high standards of nursing care
• Ensure high standards of care, safety and service for patients, relatives and other customers, including consultants, in line with hospital policy and protocols
• Develop a working environment and culture that improves health, safety, security and infection control
• Lead others in developing knowledge, ideas and work practices
• Plan and allocate work, and assess and give feedback to team members
