Job summary

NHS in Wales seeks an experienced pharmacist to take on Team Leader for the Surgical Directorate at Wrexham Maelor Hospital. Band 8b, fixed-term for 4 months, 37.5 hours per week with on-call duties.

Supports clinical leadership and service development within the pharmacy team. You will collaborate across Emergency Care, Medicine, Community Services, Primary Care, Mental Health, and Safe Medication Practice to deliver strategy, lead on medicines safety, and drive improvements.

Qualifications

• Registered pharmacist with GPhC and PPE readiness.
• Postgraduate qualification in pharmacy or equivalent experience.
• Leadership and teaching qualifications are desirable.

Responsibilities

• To strategically lead, develop and implement a high-quality clinical pharmacy service as part of the multidisciplinary leadership team of the Surgical Directorate.
• To be surgical representative on drugs and therapeutics committee and policies and procedures group, and others where required.
• To lead on developing a strategic vision and roadmap for pharmacy services within the directorate, taking into account the diverse skills of the wider pharmacy team.
• To ensure the safe and effective use of medicines within the Surgical directorate.
• To lead and manage the pharmacy clinical team working in the division.
• To act as a link pharmacist to the relevant clinical networks across BCUHB.

MSc in advanced clinical practice or RPS credentialing at core advanced level
