Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust is recruiting Band 5 Staff Nurses to join the Surgical Assessment Unit in London. You will deliver high-quality nursing care, supervise junior staff and support efficient patient flow in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Essential: Registered Nurse.
• Experience in surgical or assessment nursing as a registered nurse.
• Experience in emergency or urgent care nursing.
• Ability to prioritise workload and work under pressure.
• Ability to organise department activities and use initiative.
• Ability to solve problems and contribute new ideas.
• Basic IT skills.
• Competent in oral medications, SC, IM injections and IV medications.
• Venepuncture and cannulation competency.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned care for a group of patients without direct supervision.
• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate evidence-based care.
• Provide individualised patient care and information to patients, relatives and carers.
• Organise workload for efficient use of time and supervise junior staff.
• Assist in orientation of new staff and students.
• Ensure nursing practices comply with Trust policies and procedures.
• Encourage development of nursing assistants and students to meet learning outcomes.
• Stay up to date with current nursing developments and evidence-based practice.
• Develop new skills and knowledge pertaining to the specialty as advised.
