Job summary

Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Speciality Business Manager - Surgery (Band 8a) to lead patient pathways within the H&N Specialty Unit and drive performance and improvement across the clinical services in Preston. The role involves management of a multidisciplinary team and close collaboration with Clinical Directors and Matrons to deliver high-quality care.

You will lead financial and operational performance, shaping services to meet organisational priorities

Qualifications

• Diploma in NHS Management, Degree (or equivalent clinical qualification) or equivalent experience.
• Participation in continuing professional development to improve and update specialist knowledge
• Experience of operational management in NHS
• Detailed understanding of operation of acute hospital services and performance targets
• Experience of managing a budget
• Experience of successful project management

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage patient pathways within the SBUs to meet quality and performance targets.
• Oversee a diverse team and coordinate resources efficiently.
• Collaborate with Clinical Directors and Matrons to drive improvement and patient care.
• Foster a culture of initiative and open communication across levels.
• Provide effective line management and develop team skills.
• Own and manage the Directorate budget and finances in line with priorities.
