About the job:

As a Surety Underwriter, you will:

1. Manage and grow a profitable portfolio of business.
2. Underwrite risks in line with regulatory requirements, internal controls, and legislation.
3. Work closely with brokers and customers to manage policies end-to-end.
4. Conduct audits and process reviews.
5. Support the implementation of policy and procedure changes.
6. Collaborate with other teams to resolve underwriting issues and ensure smooth operations.

You will also stay informed on industry trends and regulatory developments, contribute to projects, and focus on delivering excellent customer outcomes.

Skills and experience required:

• Underwriting Expertise: Experience in underwriting Surety risks, including new business and renewals in the UK market.
• Regulatory Knowledge: Understanding of UK regulations, controls, contracts, and relevant legislation affecting Surety underwriting.
• Portfolio Management: Ability to manage a profitable portfolio, including end-to-end policy management.
• Collaboration and Teamwork: Experience working with various teams to support Surety offerings and underwriting tasks.
• Customer Focus: Commitment to delivering positive customer outcomes and supporting customer objectives.
