Job summary

Dewis Centre for Independent Living is seeking a Personal Assistant to support a 28-year-old woman in Penarth, enabling her independent living. The role involves community activities, supervision at home, and driving to engagements.

You will work 9–10 hours a week, evenings and weekends, at £15 per hour, with DBS check and payslip. Applicants must have autism experience, be a driver, and respect privacy.

Qualifications

• Experience of Autism.
• Common Sense.
• Car owner/Driver.
• Proactive approach to support.
• Female only due to personal care.
• Willing to drive outside local area.

Responsibilities

• Transport me to and support access to activities such as arts, swimming, walks, picnics, cinema, theatre and day trips.
• Assist with light meals when at home in the evening.
• Accompany me to the toilet, ensuring privacy as needed while I self-care.
• Provide support to maintain independence and safety in the community.
• Respect boundaries and empower without taking over.
