Job description

Join us at WWF-UK – Supporter Engagement Manager

Location: Living Planet Centre, Woking, Surrey

Contract: Fixed term, full time (35 hours)

Hybrid working: Minimum 40% in person collaboration per month

Please note, this is a fixed-term role linked to a maternity cover, ending no later than June 2027. Due to the nature of the contract, it may end earlier if the substantive postholder returns sooner than expected, subject to the notice arrangements set out in the contract.

About the role

We’re excited to be recruiting a Supporter Engagement Manager to help WWF-UK build stronger, longer-lasting relationships with our supporters.

Sitting within the Supporter Retention team, you’ll help shape and deliver supporter journeys for some of WWF-UK’s key regular giving products, including Junior Adoptions and Go Wild Junior Membership.

You’ll be responsible for planning and delivering engaging supporter communications across digital, direct mail, telemarketing and other channels, making sure every interaction feels relevant, valuable and connected to the impact of our work.

Working closely with the Senior Supporter Engagement Manager, Supporter Engagement Editor and colleagues across digital, content, supporter care and fundraising, you’ll help develop campaigns and journeys from initial idea through to delivery, evaluation and improvement.

You’ll use insight, data and supporter feedback to understand what is working, identify where journeys can be improved and test new approaches that strengthen engagement and retention. You’ll also keep an eye on trends, competitor activity and new opportunities, helping WWF-UK continue to evolve its fundraising products and supporter experience.

This is a varied, hands-on role combining campaign management, content development, digital engagement, supplier management and performance analysis. You’ll coordinate activity across internal teams and external partners, manage budgets and timelines and make sure campaigns are delivered to a high standard.

You’ll also have the freedom to spot opportunities to surprise and delight existing supporters, creating timely and engaging moments that help strengthen their connection with WWF-UK.

We’re looking for someone who is organised, curious and motivated by understanding what makes supporters engage and stay connected. You’ll be comfortable managing detail and deadlines, working collaboratively across teams and using insight to continually improve the supporter experience.

Skills and experience

You’ll bring the skills and experience needed to succeed in this role, including:

  • Experience working in fundraising, marketing, supporter engagement or a related area
  • Experience planning and delivering direct marketing or supporter communications campaigns across more than one channel
  • Experience working with digital marketing or digital supporter journeys
  • Strong project management and organisational skills, with the ability to manage campaigns from planning through to delivery and evaluation
  • Experience using data, insight or campaign results to assess performance and improve future activity
  • Good numerical and analytical skills, including experience working with budgets, targets or KPIs
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work confidently with colleagues, suppliers and partners
  • Experience coordinating input and feedback from different teams and stakeholders
  • Experience working with external agencies, suppliers or production partners
  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities effectively
  • Experience working with CRM systems, databases or similar tools
  • Ability to work independently, use initiative and identify opportunities to improve supporter journeys or ways of working
  • Understanding of the importance of delivering a consistent, high-quality supporter experience
  • Ability to work collaboratively and build strong relationships across teams
  • Experience working specifically within charity fundraising or supporter retention
  • Experience delivering campaigns across direct mail, email, telemarketing and digital channels
  • Experience developing or improving regular giving, membership or subscription products
  • Experience working with print production and fulfilment
  • Experience developing content or briefing creative work for supporter communications
  • Experience testing and optimising digital journeys or communications
  • Experience monitoring supporter or customer retention
  • Knowledge of relevant fundraising, data protection and marketing regulations
  • Experience supporting or coaching colleagues
  • Experience representing an organisation through external fundraising or marketing networks
  • An interest in WWF-UK’s work and a commitment to our mission
