Job summary

Lifeways is seeking a dedicated Support Worker to help people with complex needs live fulfilling, independent lives at home and in the community. You’ll support with daily living tasks, accompany clients on activities, and encourage participation in clubs and events.

We value caring, compassionate, and reliable individuals who want to make a real difference. Permanent and flexible bank/sessional contracts are available, with induction and training provided.

Qualifications

• Caring and compassionate approach to supporting people.
• Reliable with a positive attitude and willingness to help others.
• Experience in care or similar support roles is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support people to access the community and independent living.
• Assist with daily living tasks and personal care as required.
• Encourage independence, confidence, and social involvement.
• Record and report on people’s wellbeing and progress.

As a Support Worker, you'll help people with complex needs live fulfilling, independent lives both at home and in the local community. No two days are the same. You could be:

• Supporting people to access the community
• Going swimming, shopping, or for coffee
• Attending clubs, social activities, and day trips
• Visiting cinemas, attractions, and local events
• Encouraging independence and building confidence

You'll also support with daily living tasks such as:

• Cooking and meal preparation
• Laundry and household chores
• Shopping and budgeting
• Personal care where required, including bathing, dressing, feeding, and toileting assistance

• Permanent contracts available
• Sessional/Bank contracts available
• Flexible working opportunities to fit around your lifestyle
• Shift work on a rota basis, including some weekends

About the Service

Church View Apartments provides a welcoming and supportive environment where people can enjoy both independence and a strong sense of community. The service consists of:

• 12 self-contained apartments, each with a bedroom, open-plan kitchen/lounge, and wet room bathroom
• Accessible ground-floor apartments with patio access to communal gardens
• 12 accessible bungalows with private living spaces and shared garden access
• Level access throughout and lift access to upper floors
