Job summary

Voyage Care in Driffield is seeking caring, hands-on Support Workers to help people gain independence and improve quality of life in a friendly residential service. You’ll work as part of a dynamic team, teaching life skills, assisting with personal care, and enabling access to local communities.

No two days will be the same, with activities from outings to bars and pubs to evenings in watching films or playing games.

Qualifications

  • Experience with following Positive Behaviour Support plans and reflective practice.
  • Experience working with individuals requiring enhanced support (including behaviour of distress, mental health conditions, autism, trauma).
  • Passion for enhancing quality of life and helping people grow in independence.

Responsibilities

  • Support individuals to gain independence in daily living.
  • Assist with personal care and life skills development.
  • Encourage community participation and social activities.
  • Facilitate activities and outings to local venues.
  • Provide compassionate, responsive support in a residential setting.

Job description

We're on the hunt for genuinely caring, hands-on Support Workers with a passion for enhancing the quality of life of the people we support. As a support worker with us you'll be helping people to gain more independence in their daily lives, whilst working within a dynamic team to support a fantastic group of people! Our residential service in Driffield is a welcoming and friendly environment and you can be sure that no two days will be the same! You'll be enhancing the lives of the people we support by teaching them new life skills, assisting with personal care, encouraging them to access their local communities, socialising and doing lots of activities. One day you could be out with the people we support in local bars and pubs, the next you could be unwinding with them playing video games, watching films or going to the cinema. This is an amazing role for someone who is looking to really make a difference to someone's life and to help them grow in confidence and independence so that they meet their goals, whether this be making dinner by themselves or going on holiday. We're interested in our Support Workers having both the right experience and the right values. This is why at this service our Support Workers should be resilient, flexible and composed in their approach, have experience with following Positive Behaviour Support plans and reflective practice as well as experience working with individuals requiring enhanced support, including behaviour's of distress, mental health conditions, autism, forensic histories and people who have experienced trauma.     Support Worker - Driffield £12.72ph - £14.22 ph
  • Enhanced evening and weekend pay at an additional 50p per hour (Ts & Cs apply)
