Job summary

Mencap in Haverhill is seeking compassionate Support Workers to join our friendly team. You’ll help with daily routines, accompany people on activities and support independence in the community. We offer full-time, part-time and relief contracts with varied shifts.

Do you love being out and about, getting stuck in, and knowing your work truly makes a difference? We're looking for compassionate Support Workers to join our friendly team in Haverhill.

Life here is active, social and varied. The people we support enjoy trips to the gym and swimming pool, catching up with family and friends, going out for lunch and even the occasional show. No two days look the same, and you'll be right there alongside them encouraging independence, building confidence and sharing great moments.

This is more than just a job. It's about empowering people to live the lives they choose. You will be supporting with daily routines, household tasks, attending appointments and getting out into the community. Most importantly, you'll be helping create opportunities, choices and meaningful experiences every single day.

We're currently offering full-time, part-time and relief contracts. Shifts range from 7am to 10pm, with sleep-ins from 10pm until 7am.

In return, you'll receive full training, ongoing development opportunities and the support of a welcoming team. Most of all, you'll have the satisfaction of knowing that what you do genuinely matters.

Please note: This position does not meet the minimum salary requirements for a Health and Care visa under the UK Skilled Worker route, as set by the Home Office. Therefore, although Mencap is a licensed sponsor, we are unable to offer sponsorship for this role. Applicants must already have the legal right to work in the UK, as we are not able to support new visa applications or sponsorship requests for this vacancy.
