Job summary

Look Ahead is seeking a kind, organised and resilient Support Worker to join our Mental Health Social Care Services in Hackney. You’ll build supportive relationships, follow lone working and health & safety protocols, and help customers maintain a clean, safe living environment.

You’ll work a mixture of early, late and sleep shifts, 5 days per week, including weekends and bank holidays on a rolling rota. The role comes with a salary of £30,784 per annum and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Up to NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent or experience in the social care/charity sector.
• Experience working in mental health is desirable.
• Experience delivering personal care / assistance is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Building supportive, trusting relationships with customers and creating a positive atmosphere in the home.
• Following lone working protocols and maintaining high levels of awareness to health and safety for self, colleagues and customers.
• Supporting customers to maintain a healthy and clean living environment, where appropriate, provide assistance to maintain their living areas are clean and safe from hazards.
• Providing support and assistance to customers during the day who may be experiencing difficulties with their own mental health and seeking appropriate support.
• Providing support with daily living activities including practical assistance to customers who may require this.

30,784.00 per hour annum, working 40 hours per week.

The working pattern for this role includes; Mixture of 3 different shifts, Early 8am-4pm, Late 2.30pm-10.30pm, Late Sleep 2.30pm-10.30pm and sleep till 8am. 5 working days a week. Must be able to work Bank holidays and weekends as allocated on the rolling rota.

CQC registered care home for 24 adults with mental health needs. The service focused on the safety and quality of life.

What you’ll do:

What you’ll bring:

Essential:

• Up to NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent or experience in the social care/charity sector

Desirable:

• Experience working in mental health
• Experience working in a CQC registered care setting
• Experience of delivering personal care / assistance.
