Job summary

Voyage Care is seeking hands-on Support Workers to improve the quality of life for the people we support in a residential service. You will help individuals gain independence, teach life skills, assist with personal care and enable community access, social activities and holidays.

Qualifications

  • Full UK driving licence required.
  • Candidates should be resilient, flexible and composed under pressure.
  • Experience with Positive Behaviour Support plans and reflective practice is preferred.
  • Experience supporting individuals requiring enhanced support (distress, mental health, autism, forensic histories, trauma) is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with daily living activities and personal care.
  • Teach and support with new life skills to increase independence.
  • Encourage access to local communities and socialise with peers.
  • Participate in in-house activities and outings to promote engagement and wellbeing.

Job description

We're on the hunt for genuinely caring, hands‑on Support Workers with a passion for enhancing the quality of life of the people we support. As a support worker with us you'll be helping people to gain more independence in their daily lives, whilst working within a dynamic team to support a fantastic group of people! Our residential service is a welcoming and friendly environment and you can be sure that no two days will be the same! You'll be enhancing the lives of the people we support by teaching them new life skills, assisting with personal care, encouraging them to access their local communities, socialising and doing lots of This is an amazing role for someone who is looking to really make a difference to someone's life and to help them grow in confidence and independence so that they meet their goals, whether this be making dinner by themselves or going on holiday. Activities in house are:

  • Trips out - E.g. Butterfly park, Safari parks, Beach and anything the people show an interest to partake in.
  • Holidays
  • Arts and Crafts
  • In house parties for special occasions
  • Gardening
  • Walks and picnics
  • Coffee shops
  • Daily drives out

We're interested in our Support Workers having both the right experience and the right values. This is why at this service our Support Workers should hold a full UK driving license, be resilient, flexible and composed in their approach, have experience with following Positive Behaviour Support plans and reflective practice as well as experience working with individuals requiring enhanced support, including behaviour's of distress, mental health conditions, autism, forensic histories and people who have experienced trauma.

  • It is preferable to have held a UK Manual Driving License and be over age of 21 in order to drive our vehicle to go out on activities

Pay Rate starts at: £12.84 - £14.84 (Ts & Cs apply) Contract: 35hrs Typical Shifts are: a mixture: 7am - 14:00 and 14:00 - 21:00
